Testimonials
Hi Diane,
We are so happy with Rosie (formerly Brandy) our new Papillon puppy. We were a little hesitant to pick a puppy online but after talking with Diane we were more comfortable. Since she was a Chrismas present it was so nice of you to send an updated picture before the holiday so we could show her to her new mom. She was thrilled Santa was getting her a baby of her own. We came to visit her at 5 weeks of age. We were impressed with the kennel, it was clean and all the dogs looked great. We got to meet her mom and dad. If we could of we would have taken her brothers and sister too (lol). Everyone we met was very nice. We even got to watch a puppy being born. At 7 weeks we came back to get her. She had a bath and the paper work went quick. We took Rosie to our vet and she was given a clean bill of health. He was impressed at how healthy and happy she was. She is now almost 11 weeks old and weighs 3 pounds(hopefully you can open the attachment). She is happy and healthy and very spoiled. We have two older papillons and Rosie just follows them around. We think she is the smartest puppy we ever had. We would highly recommend The Happy Woofer to any one looking to add to thier family . Over all it was a great experience.
Thanks so much,Peggy McAlister and family

German Shepherd Dog
Group |
Herding |
Origins |
The German Shepherd originated in Germany in 1899. As part of the Herding Group, German Shepherds are working dogs developed originally for herding and guarding sheep. |
Height |
22 - 26 inches |
Weight |
55 - 95 lbs. |
Color |
German Shepherd can be many colors including Bi-Color, Black, Black & Cream, Black & Red, Black & Silver, Black & Tan, Blue, Gray, Liver, Sable & White but most commonly Tan with the Black Saddle. |
Coat |
The German Shepherd has a double coat. The outer coat, which sheds all year round, is close and dense with a thick undercoat. The coat is accepted in two lengths; medium and long. The long hair is accepted in the German and UK Kennel Clubs but not in the American Kennel Club. |
Character |
The German Shepherds were bred specifically for their intelligence, a trait for which they are now famous. They rank #3 in intelligence; behind Border Collies and Poodles. |
Temperament |
The German Shepherd is a very self-assured breed. They have the willingness to learn and an eagerness to have a purpose in life and to please. They are very protective of their family and their territory and are very intelligent and obedient. They should show their self-confidence but not hostile. The German Shepherd should not be nervous, timid or shy. |
Care |
Brushing your dog on a regular basis, such as 10 min. a day, will keep some of the excess shedding to a minimum. An occasional bath should keep your dog clean; once a month and regular nail trimming is a must and something that should start at an early age to keep the dog used to it. |
Training |
Training is a must for the German Shepherd. Mental exercises as well as physical exercises is very important. Train your puppy early as they do get large and strong very quickly. Training is an ongoing thing and must be implemented in your daily life. If the puppy is kept in a pen too much and not taught how to live in harmony with the family; they can become a nuisance. Train your dog or take it to obedience classes for help in training. |
Activity |
The German Shepherd is a highly active dog. They are a dog that needs training and/or a job. However, too much hard fetching and running is not good at an early age. Wait until the puppy is mature enough. Please check with your veterinarian to see how much activity for what age level. Hip Dysplasia can be inherited but can also be inflicted with too much hard play at too young of an age. Because of the German Shepherds high activity level, they make excellent police, military and guide dogs, guard dogs and search and rescue dogs. |
